About UILS (University Institute of Legal Studies), Panjab University<\/p>\n

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) was established as a constituent department of Panjab University, in the academic session 2004-05. During a short span of time, it has emerged as one of the premier legal institutes with a unique blend of tradition and modernity. Its mission is to equip the students with the skills to comprehend and diagnose the intricacies of various legal and other interdisciplinary issues and devise solutions to these problems through analysis and reasoning. The stimulating and interactive academic environment of the Institute helps to hone the Drafting, Research, Advocacy, Interviewing, and Negotiation- skills of the students. The Moot Court Competitions, Client Counseling Sessions, Quiz Contests, Seminars, Group Discussions, Extension Lectures, etc. are a regular feature of the academic calendar of the Institute.<\/p>\n

About the Moot<\/p>\n

The 7th SURANA & SURANA & UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF LEGAL STUDIES NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2024 has been envisaged with the aim of creating awareness on Environment Law in a systematic \/ scientific manner and train participants for effective practice. Additionally, to facilitate the evolution of Environment Law through the jurisprudential analysis of the existing law and consequential emergence of new laws besides developing cutting edge skills in research, writing and advocacy.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, the competition has seen significant expansion, with strong participation from across the country. The institution has hosted each edition with zeal and intensity and intends to continue the tradition this year with the same enthusiasm for learning.<\/p>\n

VENUE AND DATE<\/p>\n

The 7th Surana & Surana and University Institute of Legal Studies National Environment Law Moot Court Competition<\/span> shall be held Virtually<\/span> on September 13th & September 14th, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

LANGUAGE<\/p>\n

The competition shall be in the English language.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/p>\n

The competition is open for students who are pursuing LLB three year \/ five-year course during the current academic year.<\/p>\n

Team Composition<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    Each team should consist of a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated for each team. The researcher shall be allowed to argue with prior permission of the court and National Administrator in case of illness of the designated speakers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Each team will be provided a team code prior to the submission of memorials via email. This team code is only for the memorials. Teams should not disclose the identity of their institution in their memorials; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification. The decision for the same shall be at the discretion of the National<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Administrator. Prof. Ms. Shruti Bedi, Director, University Institute of Legal Studies will be the National Administrator.<\/p>\n

    REGISTRATION<\/p>\n

    1. \n

      Online registrations are open from 5th August 2024<\/span>. The teams must register online by 28th August 2024<\/span>. Teams will have to register online at www.moot.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      No temporary registration requests will be entertained. Kindly refrain from sending such requests to Surana & Surana or University Institute of Legal Studies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Participants will receive an automated system generated acknowledgement on successful submission of registration. Participants will receive an approval as acceptance of their request for participation by 30th August 2024<\/span> or earlier.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Registration Process<\/p>\n

      Option 1<\/span> – The Registration form cum Approval letter as provided in the rules duly signed & sealed by your university \/ college \/ moot society.<\/p>\n

      Option 2<\/span> – Upload both (i) & (ii) together as a single PDF<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        The Registration form cum Approval letter (without seal & signature) as provided in the rules duly filled along with<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        Scanned copy of authorisation letter with sign and seal from your university \/ college \/ moot society<\/p>\n

        or<\/p>\n

        An email communication from the official id (to be filled as notification email id during online registration process) of the institution, from your university \/ college \/ moot society to complete the registration process.<\/p>\n

        Note :<\/p>\n

          Signatories on the registration form should be any of the following:- Faculty- in\u00e2\u2013\u00a1charge of MCA \/ MCS \/ MCC, Registrar, Dean, Principal, Director, Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        2. \n

          Registration without the scanned copy of the approval letter \/ an email communication from the college \/ institution \/ university or duly attested registration form will not be valid.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

        3. \n

          Soft copy of the registration and approval letter\/ an email communication as a single PDF to be sent by email to: mootingsocietyuils@gmail.com<\/a> marked as 7th SURANA & SURANA AND UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF LEGAL STUDIES NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION – REGISTRATION<\/span> as subject of the mail latest by 30th August 2024<\/span>. The provisional team code shall be allotted to the registered teams by Host University soon after receiving of registration particulars. The Provisional team code is to be used for submission of only the soft copies of your memorials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        4. \n

          On receiving the provisional Team Code from Moot Court Society of University Institute of Legal Studies you may proceed to pay the registration fees.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        5. \n
