About School of Law, Christ (Deemed to Be University), Bangalore<\/p>\n

School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) (SLCU), Bangalore, is a part of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, which was founded by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate. SLCU boasts of unmatched infrastructure consisting of well-equipped audio-visual classrooms, resourceful libraries with the latest legal publications and journals, an information centre with all-time Internet connectivity, conference halls, mini-auditorium, and above all, a conducive environment to study and explore numerous possibilities in life.<\/p>\n

Project ICSSR<\/p>\n

Project ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) headed by Dr Sapna S (Associate Dean and Head of Department, School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University)) and Dr. G Manjunath (Additional Labour Commissioner, Government of Karnataka) as Principal Investigators, is a Minor Research Project (MRP) funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. It aims to conduct an empirical impact assessment of social security schemes for unorganised workers in Karnataka, particularly focusing on the effectiveness of the Asha Deepa scheme and Karnataka Private Commercial Accident benefit scheme instituted by the Government of Karnataka.<\/p>\n

Art of Law<\/p>\n

Art of Law is a comprehensive platform for disseminating legal facts, news, and knowledge. Its flagship program, Project NYAY, is a student-volunteered initiative under the leadership of Pawan S.S and Kamal Adithya K that focuses on providing accessible and complimentary legal education to students and marginalized communities regarding legal concepts across various domains of law and allied fields. The courses are offered in both English and Indian regional languages. The project also has a legal podcast titled Vidhisamvad which is part of the ‘Art of Law’ YouTube channel. It has also been featured in the United Nations Academic Impact under the Millennium Campus Network.<\/p>\n

Conference<\/p>\n

The conference invites practitioners, academicians, experts, scholars, NGOs, researchers, and students from various disciplines to submit papers addressing the multifaceted issues surrounding unorganised workers. Contributions from diverse fields, including law, economics, sociology, public policy, gender studies, and related areas will be accepted. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to discussions on critical issues affecting unorganised workers and to explore solutions for enhancing their social security.<\/p>\n
