The appointment was made by the President of India in exercise of the powers conferred by Art. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0001574965\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">223<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002726967\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Constitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Justice Ayumantakath will perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court with effect from 05-07-2024, consequent upon the retirement of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2023\/07\/27\/justice-ashish-jitendra-desai-38th-chief-justice-of-the-high-court-of-kerala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justice Ashish
