On 13-6-2024, the Ministry of Law and Justice notified the Mediation Council of India (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2024. The provisions came into force on 13-6-2024.<\/p>\n

Key Points:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    The Chairperson or the Member of the Mediation Council of India (‘MCI’)<\/span> will be appointed to a full- time basis post which that person cannot accept any other private employment.<\/p>\n

    Accepting any other employment will be allowed only after expiration of one-year from the date of demitting the office in the Council.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Salaries:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Chairperson-<\/span> will have an option to:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Either receive a pay scale of Rs. 2,25,000 (Level- 17 of the Pay Matrix) along with other allowances and benefits;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Or receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 5,62,500 per month including all allowances.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Member-<\/span> will have an option to:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Either receive a pay scale of Rs. 2,05,400- 2,24,400 (Level- 16 of the Pay Matrix) along with other allowances and benefits;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Or receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 5,00,000 per month including all allowances.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The Chairperson\/ member will be entitled to get the following leaves:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Earned leaves- 30 days for every completed year of service;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Casual leaves- 8 days per year<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Allowances granted to:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Chairperson-<\/span> Travelling allowance, daily allowance, house rent allowances and transportation of personal effects at the same rate as are admissible to a Secretary to the Government of India.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Member-<\/span> Travelling allowance, daily allowance, house rent allowances and transportation of personal effects at the same rate as are admissible to an officer of equivalent rank of the Central Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
