Supreme Court:<\/span> On 29-05-2024, the Supreme Court Registry refused to list the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s application seeking a seven days extension of his interim bail in the Liquor Policy Case, granted on 10-05-2024.<\/p>\n

The refusal for listing the application was made on the grounds that liberty to move before the Trial Court for regular bail was given to Kejriwal, hence, the present application will not be maintainable.<\/p>\n

The application was mentioned by Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi before the Vacation Division Bench of JK Maheshwari and KV Viswanathan, JJ. on 28-05-2024, wherein it was clarified that the criminal appeal was already heard and reserved on 17-05-2024 by another Bench. It was also suggested that it would be appropriate to place the application before the Chief Justice of India Dr. DY Chandrachud for appropriate orders.<\/p>\n

On 10-05-2024, the Division Bench of Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta granted him interim bail till 01-06-2024 considering the ongoing 18th<\/span> Lok Sabha General Elections with a direction to surrender on 02-06-2024, with the following conditions:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    to furnish bail bonds in the sum of Rs.50,000\/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    he shall not visit the Chief Minister Office and the Delhi Secretariat;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    he shall be bound by the statement made on his behalf that he shall not sign official files unless it is required and necessary for obtaining clearance\/ approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    he will not make any comment with regard to his role in the present case;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    he will not interact with any of the witnesses and\/or have access to any official files connected with the case.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ED had registered Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) on 22-08-2022 pursuant to registration of the predicate offences by the Central Bureau of Investigation on 17-08-2022 under Section 120-B<\/a> read with Section 447-A<\/a> of the Penal Code, 1860<\/a> and Section 7<\/a> of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988<\/a>. The Lieutenant Governor of the Government of NCT of Delhi on 20-07-2022 had filed a complaint for the same. The Special Court took cognisance on 20-12-2022. Thereafter, ED filed four supplementary prosecution complaints. The CBI filed a chargesheet, followed by two supplementary chargesheets, however, the charges were not framed.<\/p>\n
