About the Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law<\/p>\n

The Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law (CCAL) at National Law University Jodhpur is dedicated to fostering dialogue and scholarship in the domains of Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. Our flagship publication, the Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal<\/span> (CALJ), under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) I.P. Massey has been fostering scholarly excellence since its inception in 2013. Our Advisory Board comprises legal stalwarts including Former CJI M.N. Venkatachaliah, Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhawan and Prof. Timothy Endicott.<\/p>\n

Indexed on SCCOnline and Manupatra, CALJ offers a platform for robust debate on contemporary issues in Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. As part of our commitment to enhancing discussions on contemporary legal issues, we also publish Pith & Substance: The CCAL Blog<\/span> where scholars, students, and legal practitioners share their insights on constitutional and administrative law themes. In our continuous endeavour to promote in-depth engagement with legal writing, we initiated the Writ[e] & Talk<\/span> podcast in 2022. Through insightful interviews with authors of academic papers, we explore the intricacies of their research, arguments, and methodologies. The CCAL also had the privilege of hosting guest lecturers by eminent scholars, including Prof. Romila Thapar, Prof. Shubhankar Dam, and Mr. Vikram Raghavan, who enriched our academic pursuits.<\/p>\n

About the Constitutional Law Society<\/p>\n

The Constitutional Law Society was established in 2018 with the aim of fostering a culture of in-depth discussion and debate surrounding several areas of Constitutional law. Its principal objective is to address subjects and themes that may not be fully explored or covered within the confines of a traditional classroom setting. Through a range of engaging activities, including competitions, specialized lectures, and group discussions, the society endeavours to enhance and deepen students’ understanding of Constitutional law. Over the course of its existence, the Society has hosted a distinguished array of learned academicians and scholars, among them being Prof. Hanna Lerner, Prof. Vicki C. Jackson, Prof. Gary J. Jacobson, Dr. Chintan Chandrachud, Dr. M. R. Madhavan, and Prof. Philip Dann, among several others. These esteemed individuals have graced the society’s lecture series, generously sharing their profound insights and expertise on a wide spectrum of subjects pertaining to Constitutional Law.<\/p>\n

About the Seminar<\/p>\n

The Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law<\/span> and the Constitutional Law Society<\/span> at National Law University Jodhpur<\/span> are delighted to announce a joint initiative — a National Seminar titled ‘Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times’ to be held at NLU Jodhpur on 7th September, 2024. The abstract submission deadline for the conference is 20th June, 2024. With the success of the previous two editions of the national seminar, we are delighted to conduct the seminar on our campus this year.<\/span> This seminar aims to provide a platform for legal scholars, practitioners, academicians and students to engage in thoughtful discussions and deliberations on pressing contemporary issues within the realm of constitutional law. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, the seminar seeks to foster an enriching exchange of ideas, critical analysis and novel insights into the evolving landscape of constitutional jurisprudence.<\/p>\n
