style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">On 17-05-2024, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice DY Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR Gavai resolved to recommend the appointment of 2 Additional Judges of Gauhati High Court as Permanent Judges and extension of term of Additional Judge of Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold; font-size: 16pt;\">Gauhati High Court<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Names of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Susmita Phukan Khaund<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Mitali Thakuria<\/span> were recommended to be elevated as Permanent Judges of the Gauhati High Court against the existing vacancies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The decision was taken by the Collegium after scrutinizing the material placed on record including the opinion of the consultee judges and report of the Judgment Evaluation Committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold; font-size: 16pt;\">Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh High Court<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Rajesh Sekhri as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh for a fresh term of one year with effect from 29-07-2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The recommendation for extension of term was made on the account of there being no vacancy of Permanent Judge against which Justice Sekhri could be
