Supreme Court:<\/span> In a special leave petition filed by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren challenging his arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement (‘ED’) being aggrieved by the delay of the Jharkhand High Court in pronouncing the judgment despite concluding the arguments on February 29, the division bench of Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta, JJ. has stated that the petition has become ‘infructuous’, since the High Court has delivered the verdict.<\/p>\n

Hemant Soren was arrested in the land scam case on allegations of being the primary beneficiary of the fraudulently acquired land.<\/p>\n

The Court noted that the High Court had decided his petition on 03-05-2024, refusing him bail.<\/p>\n

The Bench stated that Hemant Soren would be at liberty to raise all contentions in the second petition, which is coming up next week.<\/p>\n

The Special Leave Petition challenging the Jharkhand High Court’s order is now listed on 13-05-2024, before the same Bench.<\/p>\n
