Supreme Court:<\/span> In a criminal special leave petition by Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP’s leader Arvind Kejriwal challenging his arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement (‘ED’) and subsequent remand in the Delhi liquor excise policy case, Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta sought response from the ED and issued notice. The Bench listed the matter for a further hearing on 29-04-2024.<\/p>\n

Kejriwal approached the Court after the Delhi High Court dismisses Kejriwal’s petition under Articles 226 and 227 read with Section 482<\/a> of Criminal Procedure Code<\/a> (CrPC) against his arrest by the ED on the ground that the arrest was in violation of Section 19<\/a> of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002<\/a> (‘PMLA’).<\/p>\n

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED at his residence in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case on 21-03-2024, after the Delhi High Court refused to grant interim protection to him.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had dismissed Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest and opined that the same was not in contravention with
