Students enrolled in a full-time bachelor&#8217;s law program in any Indian\/Foreign University at the time of the Competition were eligible to compete in the Competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">We had a cap of 16 registrations and received applications from law colleges across India and abroad. The Oral Rounds of the Competition were divided into Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-final Rounds, Semi-final Rounds, and Final Rounds. The Preliminary, Quarter-Finals and Semi-final Rounds were conducted in a virtual mode on the 16<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> of March while the Final Round and valedictory ceremony was conducted at ILS Law College, Pune on the 30<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> of March, 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The moot proposition for this edition was drafted by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ankita Vashishth (Advocate, Bombay High Court).<\/span> The proposition was based on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Indirect Tax Law<\/span> and was based on GST implications on online game &#8216;Rummy&#8217;. The subject matter of indirect taxation makes this moot court competition one of its kind in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This edition of the Competition was conducted in collaboration with <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">SCC Online<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Eastern Book Company<\/span> as our Knowledge and Skills Partners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">15 March 2024<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Inaugural ceremony of the Competition was held and was presided over by the following dignitaries:<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">For the inaugural ceremony &#8211; following persons presided over the event &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mr. V. Shivaram<\/span>, Senior Advocate, Bombay High Court<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Dr. Deepa Paturkar<\/span>, Principal, ILS Law College<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">CA Haresh Kenia, President<\/span>, The Chamber of Tax Consultants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ms. Divya Mittal<\/span>, Prof., Faculty co-ordinator, advocacy skills activities, ILS Law College, Pune<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ms. Niyati Mankad<\/span>, Chairperson, Student Committee, the Chamber of Tax Consultants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Mr. Rajesh Raina conducted a training session on behalf of SCC Online for all the participants to give them a detailed overview of the database and aid them in research over the course of the Competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">As part of memorial exchange, participants were allotted their sides for the preliminary rounds and were given the memorials of their opposing teams. These memorials were judges by 8 memo assessors: Adv. Swapnil Bangur, Adv. Nikhil Rungta, Adv.
