Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of Judges for 4 High Courts<\/a><\/p>\n

The Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice B.R. Gavai on 12-03-2024 resolved to recommend appointment of several Additional Judges as Permanent Judges and appointment of Judicial Officers and Advocates as Judges for the High Courts of Allahabad, Bombay, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and Kerala.<\/p>\n

Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of 2 Delhi High Court Judges<\/a><\/p>\n

The Collegium on 13-03-2024 recommended the transfer to 2 Delhi High Court Judges namely- Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice V. Kameshwar Rao.<\/p>\n

Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel from Chhattisgarh High Court to Patna High Court<\/a><\/p>\n

On 20-03-2024, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B.R. Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Aniruddha Bose, issued a Resolution recommending the transfer of Justice Arvind Singh from Chhattisgarh High Court to Patna High Court.<\/p>\n

Supreme Court has been functioning on its full strength of 34 Judges since January 2024. However, in April 2024, Justice Aniruddha Bose is due to retire from judgeship, which will create a vacancy in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Appointment of High Court Judges in March<\/p>\n

Month of March saw 36 High Court Judges getting appointed, out of which 7 were Additional Judges and 29 were Permanent Judges.<\/p>\n

Amongst 29 Permanent Judges that were appointed in March 9 were women Judges (Allahabad High Court [1]<\/span>, Bombay High Court [3]<\/span> and Punjab and Haryana High Court [5]<\/span>).<\/p>\n
