The Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, is hosting the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court, 2016\u00a0from 15th<\/sup>\u00a0January, to 17th<\/sup>\u00a0January, 2016. \u00a0The Competition is the only exclusive Criminal Law Moot Court held at\u00a0an\u00a0International level in India.<\/p>\n

Since 2005, the Campus Law Centre has been organizing the moot court competition in memory of Late Shree K. K. Luthra (Sr. Advocate)\u00a0“a leading criminal lawyer of its time” being organized by his wife Mrs Nirmal Luthra .<\/p>\n

This\u00a0year, the Competition received participation from\u00a078 institutions from India and abroad. \u00a0The teams shortlisted for\u00a0the Competition\u00a0are from\u00a050\u00a0institutions\u00a0including NLSIU, Bangalore, NALSAR, Hyderabad, Symbiosis Law School and ILS,\u00a0Pune. \u00a0The Competition will also see international teams taking part, with a team from\u00a0the George Washington University Law School (USA),\u00a0Northumbria\u00a0Law School,\u00a0Northumbria\u00a0University (U.K.), Sri Lanka Law College (Sri Lanka),\u00a0Universitas\u00a0Gadjah\u00a0Mada\u00a0(Indonesia)\u00a0and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan).<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Moot Problem focuses on the law of Espionage, Corporate Criminal Liability and the constitutional validity of a statute and its effect on a pending prosecution.\u00a0 The idea behind this year\u2019s Competition is to make participants focus on the constitutional issues of penal statues and criminal trial.\u00a0Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice\u00a0Kurian Joseph, Judge,\u00a0Supreme Court of India will be the Chief Guest and\u00a0Mr. P. K. Malhotra, Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Legal Affairs\u00a0will the Guest of Honour at the Inaugural Function of the Competition on\u00a015th<\/sup>\u00a0January, 2016.<\/p>\n

The George Washington University Law School,Washington DC,\u00a0USA and Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University\u00a0are\u00a0jointly organizing \u201cThe Advocacy Workshop\u201d on 15th<\/sup>\u00a0January, 2016\u00a0as has been done in the previous years.<\/p>\n

The final round to be held on 17th January, 2016\u00a0will be judged by Hon\u2019ble\u00a0Judges of the High Courts.\u00a0Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice\u00a0Jasti\u00a0Chelameswar, Judge, Supreme Court of India will be the Chief Guest and\u00a0Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice S.\u00a0RavindraBhat, Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice\u00a0Ashutosh\u00a0Kumar\u00a0and \u00a0Hon\u2019ble Ms. Justice\u00a0Sangita\u00a0Dhingra\u00a0Sehgal\u00a0will be the Guests of Honour at the Prize Distribution Ceremony on 17th January, 2016\u00a0at The India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.<\/p>\n
