The provisions came into force on 21-2-2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Key Point:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Provision relating <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Consent of the Surrogate Mother and Agreement for Surrogacy&#8221;<\/span> has been revised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Earlier<\/span>, the Couple undergoing Surrogacy were supposed to have both gamete from the intending couple but donor gametes were not allowed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Through this amendment, along with the earlier condition, a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">new provision<\/span> has been inserted <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">allowing one donor gamete<\/span> if the District Medical Board certifies that either of the intending couple suffers from some medical condition. It will be necessary that the child to be born must have at least 1 gamete from the intending couple.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The provision regarding the surrogacy of single woman
