Supreme Court:<\/span> In a recent development on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s alleged oral orders\/directions to the police not to allow any pooja or live streaming of Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in temples, the Division Bench of Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta, JJ. on Monday directed the State Government not to straight away reject requests for live streaming of the Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha. The Court further added that all the orders of rejection must show reasons and asked the State to maintain data.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, the TN Government told the Court that there was no ban on organising live screenings of Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, or performing special poojas, etc. to mark the occasion. It was further alleged that the PIL was ‘politically motivated’<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The matter arose when a Public Interest Litigation by a TN BJP member sought Supreme Court’s intervention while alleging that the TN Chief Minister M.K. Stalin ‘issued oral orders\/directions to the Police Department not to permit any kind of Poojas, Archanas, Bhajans, Annadhanam, live telecast of Pran Pratishtha and processions in the name of Lord Ram on the auspicious occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya, in all the temples in the State of Tamil Nadu, irrespective of whether it is a Private Temple controlled by the TN Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department’<\/span>.<\/p>\n
