On 21-12-2023, Integrated Video Surveillance System and Courtroom Live Audio-Visual Streaming System (CLASS) and OTT Platform was inaugurated at the Madhya Pradesh High Court by Ravi Malimath, CJ., in the presence of Judges and Officers of the High Court and Jabalpur District Court. The total cost of the project is reported to be Rs. 189.25 crores.<\/p>\n

The project aims at adhering to the principles of transparency and accountability, since for the very first time in India, a High Court set up live streaming of proceedings for all District and Tehsil Courts, counting 210 court complexes. As stated, it objectifies safeguarding the experience of Judges, Lawyers & Advocates, court employees, protection agencies like the police and the public at large. The project has been accredited to the vision and leadership of Justice Ravi Malimath.<\/p>\n

The IVSS & CLASS implementation comprises:<\/p>\n

    Integrated Video Management System,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Courtroom Audio-visual Recording System,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Archiving & Live as well as on-demand Streaming Set-up,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Setting up of Data Center & Command & Control Center at Jabalpur,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Disaster Recovery set-up at Indore,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Facility Management Services and Operation & Maintenance of the System for a period of 5 years.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As per report, under the pilot phase, a Centralized Command and Control Center (CCC) at Jabalpur and Disaster Recovery site at Indore have been established. The Integrated Video Surveillance System (IVSS) has been commissioned at District Court of Jabalpur and Tehsil Courts of Patan & Sihora. The Courtroom Live Audio-Visual Streaming System (CLASS) implementation has been completed in one court room of Jabalpur District Court and one court room each of Tehsil Courts of Patan and Sihora. The subsequent phases for state-wide implementation of the project are expected to be completed by December 2024 as purported by the High Court.<\/p>\n

    The report says that “With the implementation of the IVSS & CLASS project, the courtrooms in Madhya Pradesh will not only become safer for the participant stakeholders but also create a legacy of transparency & accountability and usher an era of continuous learning that will spread judicial wisdom and enhance legal competencies.”<\/p>\n
