The India International Arbitration Centre (“IIAC”)<\/span>, a statutory institution established to create an independent and autonomous regime for institutional arbitration in India and Rashtriya Raksha University (“RRU”)<\/span>, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs have entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”)<\/span> on 05th<\/span> December 2023 at Gujarat during 2nd<\/span> RRU Investment Arbitration Academy.<\/p>\n

The IIAC has been established by an Act of Parliament, the India International Arbitration Centre Act, 2019. The objects of the IIAC include developing itself as a flagship institution for conducting international and domestic arbitration; collaborating with other national and international institutions and organisations to ensure the credibility of the IIAC as a specialised institution in arbitration and mediation; and promoting research and study in the field of arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.<\/p>\n

RRU is a pioneering national security and police University of India committed to identify, prepare and sustain statecraft of national, strategic and security culture through continuous enhancement and development of innovation, education, research and training cadres from the security, military and civilian society.<\/p>\n

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta (Retd.)<\/span>, Chairperson, IIAC and Professor (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel<\/span>, Vice-Chancellor, RRU. Participants at the 2nd<\/span> RRU Investment Arbitration Academy and representatives from both organizations were also present at the ceremony. The MoU was signed by Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja<\/span>, Registrar, IIAC and Dr. Shishir Gupta<\/span>, Registrar, RRU. Mr. Shantanu Pachahara<\/span>, Assistant Professor, RRU proposed vote of thanks.<\/p>\n

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta (Retd.)<\/span>, Chairperson, IIAC in his address said “One of the objects of IIAC is to promote research and study in the field of arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). In the spirit of fostering academic excellence and advancing the realms of arbitration and other ADR mechanisms as the preferred mode of dispute resolution, this MOU signifies the collaborative commitment between IIAC and RRU. Through this partnership, we aim to not only elevate the academic discourse surrounding arbitration and other ADR mechanisms but also to further the interest of new generation of scholars and practitioners in the field of ADR who will shape the future of dispute resolution.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Among others, MoU aims to synergize the expertise of the RRU and IIAC by accrediting academic programmes, undertaking up-skilling and training programmes, encouraging research and study in the fields of arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution mechanism, both domestic and international and online education through the various entities created under the aegis of RRU.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
