It seeks to provide a forum for engaging in discussions on varied issues of contemporary importance in domestic and international law and policy. The aim of the journal is to draw attention to and provide critical insight into crucial issues impacting the legal sphere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Editorial Board is pleased to invite submissions from academics, researchers, practitioners, and students for the sixth volume of the journal, due to be published in August 2024. The deadline for submissions for this Volume is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">15<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> March, 2024.<\/span> Articles submitted after the deadline will be considered for the next volume.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">SUBMISSION CATEGORIES<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Articles (5000 to 10000 words, inclusive of footnotes): Papers that comprehensively analyse a theme and engage with all the existing literature on it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Essays (3000 to 5000 words, inclusive of footnotes): Papers that concisely analyse specific contemporary issues.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Case notes and\/or Legislative commentaries (2000 to 7000 words, inclusive of footnotes).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Book reviews: Between 2,000 to 3,000 words.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">IMPORTANT GUIDELINES<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is 11:59 PM (IST) on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">15<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> March, 2024.<\/span> Manuscripts will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Manuscripts submitted after the deadline shall be reviewed for the next volume. Submissions are accepted only in electronic form.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The submission must be made in a Microsoft Word (.docx) format via e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in<\/a> with the email title &#8216;Submission JLS&#8217;.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and, if found, manuscripts will be rejected at any stage of processing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>By submitting contributions to NLUD JLS, the author(s) confirm that the manuscript is not being simultaneously considered for publication elsewhere (online or print).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Each submission (except Book Review) should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 200 words, and at least five keywords.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Please ensure no information that can be used for identification in the submission document.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Upon submission, the manuscript shall be the property of National Law University, Delhi. All rights are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. On subsequent reproduction, the authors would be required to credit the original publication in the Journal of Legal Studies. The University reserves the right to reproduce, publish, and distribute any paper submitted for publication in all media, including but not limited to electronic and print media.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Submissions must conform to the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA), 4th Edition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All submissions must have 1.5 line spacing in Times New Roman format, with font size 12.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">It is advisable to choose a theme that is of contemporary relevance and has an issue of law to be engaged with analytically. Papers dealing with foreign themes, in any of the above categories, should also engage with its relevance in the Indian context. Papers dealing with comparative work or general matters of legal theory not related to a particular jurisdiction are also welcome.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">SUBMISSION PROCESS<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Every submission we receive goes through three stages of review: Preliminary Review, Substantive Review, and Peer Review. An article is only published if it passes through all three stages of review. Authors are informed of the status of their article at the conclusion of each stage of their review.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">After review, manuscripts may be returned to authors suggesting changes to content, style, or structure.
