Telangana High Court:<\/span> In a case wherein a writ petition was filed under Article 226<\/a> of the Constitution<\/a> before this Court seeking a direction to Respondent 1, Bar Council of India (‘BCI’) to accept the applications of final year LLB students for the AIBE-18 examination, C.V. Bhaskar Reddy, J.<\/span>, directed BCI to examine the representation of the petitioner for the AIBE-18 examination.<\/p>\n

The petitioner was a 3rd<\/span> year LL.B. student at Osmania University and had appeared in the final year exams on 14-08-2023. The petitioner submitted that without providing eligibility to final year\/semester LLB 3 years Degree course students as per the decision of the Supreme Court in Bar Council of India<\/span> v. Bonnie Foi Law College<\/span>, (2023) 7 SCC 756<\/a> (‘Bonnie Foi Law College Case’), BCI had issued a notification dated 16-08-2023 with regard to schedule of AIBE-18.<\/p>\n

The counsel appearing for BCI submitted that in compliance with the Supreme Court’s decision in Bonnie Foi Law College Case (supra), BCI had constituted a committee to examine the recommendations of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

The Court directed BCI to examine the representation of the petitioner dated 18-08-2023 duly taking note of the observations made by the Supreme Court in Bonnie Foi Law College Case (supra), within a period of two weeks from the date of this order and communicate the decision thereon to the petitioner.<\/p>\n
