Karnataka High Court:<\/span> In a high-profile matter against Aaj Tak’s Consulting Editor, Sudhir Chaudhary, wherein he was accused of spreading misinformation regarding the applicability of Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme initiated by the Government of Karnataka; the Bench of Hemant Chandangoudar, J., directed the police not to take coercive action in an FIR filed against him. However, the Court observed that there was a prima facie case against him, and it should be investigated.<\/p>\n

The issue created a frenzy all across the political and media circles when Sudhir Chaudhary, in his televised show airing on popular news channel, Aaj Tak, termed the afore-stated scheme to be a form of “minority appeasement”.<\/p>\n

FIR was lodged by Karnataka’s Minority Development Corporation which had alleged that Chaudhary had conspired to disrupt communal harmony by spreading misinformation on his channel about the Karnataka Government’s Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme.<\/p>\n
