The Intellectual Property Rights Committee (IPRC), School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore is hosting four eminent international speakers in the domain of IP law on September 8th<\/span>, 2023.<\/p>\n

ABOUT SCHOOL OF LAW, CHRIST (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY)<\/p>\n

School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), through its five-year integrated law program, has carved a space for itself in the league of premier law schools in India. The school molds its students through exposure to the advanced syllabus, clinical legal education programs, and faculty-monitored participation in curricular and extracurricular activities. The syllabus for the five-year program goes above and beyond the basic requirements of the Bar Council of India, reflecting the current trends and demands of industry and academia. Besides having a league of highly qualified faculty, the educational process is supported by a library equipped with a rich depository of online and offline resources. ABOUT THE IPRC<\/p>\n

The Intellectual Property Rights Committee (IPRC) aims to allow students to explore the ever-evolving field of IP law in proximity to its real-world significance. Under the guidance of highly-qualified faculty coordinators, this approach\u00a0will provide students with a foundation to enter diverse IP-related careers. The Committee is a platform for the student body to explore new IP developments and careers, network with pioneers and experienced professionals in the field of IP law, and indulge in high-quality research through its flagship newsletter – Intellectualis. Through collaborations with prestigious firms and organisations, the IPRC continues to strengthen and maintain professional relationships that allow it to further the cause of ensuring IP awareness, and ultimately, equitable access to knowledge.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE WEBINAR<\/p>\n

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) efficiently alleviates obstacles in the enforcement of jurisdiction-specific Intellectual Property (IP) laws and their interactions with international obligations. Arbitration, for instance, offers a higher degree of confidentiality towards IP disputes involving sensitive information and wider enforceability, and faster, more neutral and expert decision-making. While dispute resolution mechanisms can be administered by individual nations\u2019 IP offices in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as in the case of Singapore and the United States, or by specific ADR regulatory bodies, like in India. This webinar will provide insights on ADR mechanisms for IP, technology and life sciences disputes and share industry experts\u2019 experiences in handling them. Case studies from the WIPO Center for Arbitration and Mediation will help attendees understand the manner of regulating disputes they are sought to. The speakers will also discuss opportunities and paths that attendees can explore.<\/p>\n
