Chagla Memorial Government Law College National Moot Court Competition, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ABOUT THE ORGANISERS:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Government Law College, Mumbai in association with the Chief Justice M.C. Chagla Memorial Trust is pleased to announce the 30th M.C. Chagla Memorial Government Law College National Moot Court Competition, 2023 to be held on 8th October and 28th October 2023, along with a Panel Discussion to be held on 27th October, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Moot Court Association of Government Law College has been hosting the M.C. Chagla Memorial Moot Court Competition for several years. It began as a city-level Moot Court Competition, which was later expanded to a state-level competition. Due to the overwhelming response that we have been receiving, the Competition, since its 18th edition, has been raised to a national platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Late Mr. M.C. Chagla was appointed as the First Indian Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. He also served as the Ambassador to USA, Mexico, Cuba, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bombay, High Commissioner to England and Union Minister for Education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Chief Justice M.C. Chagla also served as a Professor of Constitutional Law at Government Law College, Mumbai for a number of years. He worked tirelessly for the causes of civil liberty, individual freedom and political democracy and this Moot Court Competition promises to be a fitting tribute to his legacy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Please find enclosed the Moot Proposition, Rules, and Tentative Schedule for the 30th M.C. Chagla Memorial Government Law College National Moot Court Competition, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The last date for Registration is 10th September, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">FORMAT OF THE MOOT:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Maximum of 16 teams shall participate and the registrations shall be accepted on first-come first-serve basis. The competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode. The Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds will be held online on 8th October, 2023 and the Semi-Finals and Finals will be held offline on 28th October, 2023 in Mumbai. The Panel Discussion will be held offline on 27th October, 2023. There shall be prizes for the Winning Team, Runner up Team, Best Speaker, 2nd Best Speaker, and Best Memorial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ABOUT THE MOOT PROBLEM:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This year, the Moot Proposition shall be based primarily on Constitutional Law with certain aspects of Common Law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">THE MOOT SCHEDULE:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Last date for registration for the competition:10th September, 2023. Last date for clarifications: 15th September, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Last date of submission of soft copies of Memorials: 26th September, 2023. Last date of submission of hard copies of Memorials: 15th October, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds (Online): 8th October, 2023. Panel Discussion (Offline): 27th October, 2023.Semi-Final and Final Rounds (Offline): 28th October, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">REGISTRATION:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">All the teams shall provisionally register by sending a mail to <a href=\"mailto:mcchagla.glc@gmail.com\">mcchagla.glc@gmail.com<\/a>. Only after the provisional registration has been confirmed will a link to a Google Form and details for the payments of registration fees be provided.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The payment of registration fees will be through NEFT in the amount of Rs. 2000\/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) the details of which will be provided once the provisional registration has been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ELIGIBILITY:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">All students of any recognized law colleges of the country can participate.
