Supreme Court:<\/b> In a criminal appeal filed by a wife, praying for grant of bail in connection with First Information Report (‘FIR’) registered for the offences punishable under Sections 306<\/a> and 342<\/a> of the Penal Code, 1860<\/a> (‘IPC’), the division bench of J.B.Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, JJ. recently granted regular bail to a wife accused of abetting suicide of her husband with whom she was pregnant with a child.<\/p>\n

The prosecution’s case was that the accused had abetted the commission of suicide by the deceased. Earlier, the Supreme Court vide order dated 30-06-2023, had ordered release of the accused on interim bail, as she was pregnant.The bench viewed that the accused has been able to make out a case for release on bail. Thus, it ordered that the accused be released on bail, subject to the terms and conditions which the Trial Court may deem fit to impose.<\/p>\n
