The competition is scheduled to take place from <strong>August 25<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> in online mode and <strong>September 15<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 16<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> in offline mode.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The School of Law, a wing of UPES, envisions an assemblage of specialist legal professionals, equipped to contribute to an increasingly diverse field wherein courses involve Energy Law, Corporate Law, Cyberlaw, Banking, Finances, Disruptive Technology, and Intellectual Property Rights specialization. The Alternate Dispute Resolution Association of School of Law, UPES was constituted with the purpose to facilitate and promote alternate dispute resolution mechanisms and develop and enhance skills required in Arbitration, Mediation, and Negotiation. The Association has been effortlessly working towards raising community and campus awareness and constantly providing a platform for alternate dispute resolution tournaments all over India.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The fest is being conducted with the aim of making the student fraternity accustomed to resolving disputes efficiently and understanding the benefits of the ADR mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Madhyastham<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the aegis of the ADR fest, two national-level competitions will be organized for Negotiation and Mediation &#8211; the <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> National Negotiation Competition<\/strong> and the <strong>5<sup>th<\/sup> National Mediation Competition.<\/strong> <strong>The preliminary and quarter-final rounds<\/strong> for both competitions will be held in <strong>online <\/strong>mode from the 25<sup>th<\/sup> to 26<sup>th<\/sup> of August and the <strong>semi-final and final rounds<\/strong> will be held from 15<sup>th<\/sup> to 16<sup>th<\/sup> of September in an <strong>offline <\/strong>mode.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The competitions promise to serve as a premier stage to recognize and portray the practical skills of Negotiation and Mediation of participants from various law schools across the country. With collaborations with prominent law firms and chambers in\u00a0India\u00a0and\u00a0the best of the best of those in the profession in India, UPES Dehradun, through this Competition promises to provide a glorious experience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mode<\/strong>: Hybrid<\/p>\n<p>25<sup>th<\/sup> to 26<sup>th<\/sup> August in online mode<\/p>\n<p>15<sup>th<\/sup> to 16<sup>th<\/sup> September in offline mode<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The registration is restricted to 32 teams each for the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> National Negotiation Competition and 5<sup>th<\/sup> National Mediation Competition.<\/li>\n<li>Each participant must be a current undergraduate student (5-year or 3-year course) at their respective institution. In exceptional circumstances, the organizing committee may grant eligibility to institutions with degree programs in international relations, provided that adequate instructions in international law will be available to all members\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0team.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Composition <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> National Negotiation Competition<\/p>\n<p>Each participating team shall comprise two members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One Client<\/li>\n<li>One Counsel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the 5<sup>th<\/sup> National Mediation Competition<\/p>\n<p>Each participating team shall comprise three members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One neutral Mediator<\/li>\n<li>One Client<\/li>\n<li>One Counsel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Email ID: <a href=\"mailto:soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in\">soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration Procedure <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any Interested team across the world can register for this Competition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There is a two-step registration process for the competition, the Provisional Registration and the Final Registration. To participate in the Competition, teams must complete the registration process by submitting the Registration Form. The deadline for fulfilling all registration requirements is <strong>July 25<sup>th<\/sup>, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Upon the completion and verification of all registration formalities, the Organizing Committee will inform teams about the confirmation of their registration. Each team will also be assigned a unique Team Code upon registration confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration Fee: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Registration Fee of <strong>INR 6000 (inclusive of 18% GST)<\/strong> is applicable for the <strong>Mediation Competition<\/strong>, and <strong>INR 5000 (inclusive of 18% GST<\/strong>) for the <strong>Negotiation Competition<\/strong>. All teams are required to pay the Registration Fee, which is mandatory.
