In an interview, Mr. Manan Kumar Mishra, Advocate and Chairman, Bar Council of India, called same-sex marriages to be against the culture and civilization of India. He further added that no religion in India supports these types of marriages.<\/p>\n

Mr Mishra also highlighted the resolution which has been passed by the BCI opposing the move of the handful of people who approached the Supreme Court on this issue. Mr. Mishra said that India is a democratic and country and such moves should come through the process of legislation and not through Law Courts. He further said that such serious issues should be first discussed and widely deliberated in parliament.<\/p>\n

Mr Mishra said that the Bar Council of India will make an Interrogatory Application to Supreme Court submitting that the writ for the same sex marriage should not be held maintainable and should be dismissed in limine. He also mentioned that if the petitioner or any other person who claims to have such right, then these people should approach the Government. The Parliament has the authority to decide whether any person has such legal or fundamental right.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
