The provisions came into effect on 15-3-2023.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key Points:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><b>Applicability:<\/b> whole maize flour, rice flour, barley flour, urad flour, water chestnut flour, full fat soya flour and ragi flour.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <b>Grade designation mark<\/b> should consist of the sign <b>&#8220;AGMARK Insignia&#8221;<\/b>, incorporating the certificate of authorization number, the word &#8220;AGMARK&#8221;, the name of commodity and its grade.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/12-30_Named-Flours-Grading-and-Marking-Rules-2023.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"123\" height=\"123\"\/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Schedules II to VIII will contain the <b>grade designations<\/b> indicating the quality of named flours and their criteria.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><b>Packing:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>should be done in accordance with the provisions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-9000140236\">Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulations, 2018<\/a>, the Food Safety and Standards (Labeling and Display) Regulations, 2020 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-9000683656\">Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The graded material of small pack sizes of the same lot or batch and grade should be packed in a master container with complete details.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Each package shall contain named flours of the same type and of the same grade designation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Each package will have to be properly and securely closed and sealed to avoid spilling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <b>Agricultural Marketing Advisor<\/b> will approve the manner in which the grade designation mark has to be affixed to\/ printed on each package. The following particulars should also be marked clearly on each package:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>name of the commodity<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Grade<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>variety or trade name (optional)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lot or batch number<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>date of packing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>crop year (optional)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>net weight<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>name and address of the authorized packer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>maximum retail price (inclusive of all taxes)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Best before, month and year<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 15-3-2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare notified the Named Flours Grading and Marking Rules, 2023.
