The provisions of this circular will come into force on 1-4-2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Applicability<\/span>: Applicable on Government Vehicles and does not apply to special purpose vehicles used for operational purposes for defense and for maintenance of law and order and internal security.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Key Points:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">Rule 52-A has been inserted which talks about the Renewal of certificate of registration of Government vehicles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">The following vehicles of these Government bodies will be considered as Government vehicles:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">The Central Government (&#8216;CG&#39;);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">The State Government (&#39;SG&#39;) or Union Territory administrations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">Any Municipal Corporation or Municipality or Panchayat;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">A State transport undertaking established under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950 and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002766251\">Companies Act, 2013<\/a>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">Public sector undertaking;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">An autonomous body owned or controlled by the CG or the SG.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-left: 0.0mm;\">Registration of these vehicles will expire 15 years from the date of initial registration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"List&nbsp;Paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Disposal of vehicles: <\/span>after the expiry of 15 years,
