{"id":27621,"date":"2015-12-05T13:00:24","date_gmt":"2015-12-05T07:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=27621"},"modified":"2015-12-14T16:26:15","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T10:56:15","slug":"ministry-of-railways-commits-towards-conservation-of-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2015\/12\/05\/ministry-of-railways-commits-towards-conservation-of-water\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Railways commits towards conservation of water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On 3-12-2015, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding use of Non-potable water released after treatment from sewage\/effluent treatment plants located in Ganga and Yamuna River zones for Railway purpose was signed between Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Water Resources, River Development &amp; Ganga Rejuvenation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The MoU provides that water released after treatment from Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) \/ Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) located in Ganga and Yamuna river zones will be used for various non-potable purposes of Railways. To serve the purpose, the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development &amp; Ganga Rejuvenation intends to lay the network of Sewage\/Effluent treatment Plants (STP\/ETPs) on both sides of Ganga and Yamuna rivers so as to check pollutants from entering into these rivers, and provide pipelines, pumping arrangements etc., up to the Railway Stations at its own cost. Railway shall use such treated water for various non-potable purposes and shall pay for such water used by them at the rate as mutually decided between the two Ministries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
