style=\"text-indent: 18pt;\">\n<p style=\"text-indent: 18pt; margin-bottom: 3%;\">On 13-10-2022, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (\u2018SEBI\u2019) has issued a circular on Suspension, Cancellation or Surrender of Certificate of Registration of a Credit Rating Agency (\u2018CRA\u2019) to protect the interest of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate, the securities market.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key Points:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-alpha;\">\n<li>To surrender certificate of registration:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Within 15 days of the Order or request, CRA needs to disclose it on its website and communicate to its client.<\/li>\n<li>Should not take any new clients.<\/li>\n<li>Without any extra costs, clients should be allowed to withdraw assignments.<\/li>\n<li>Migration to other CRAs having certificate of registration should be facilitated.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with CRA Regulations and circulars.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Should share information and pay fees to SEBI, when required, and co-operate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When winding up:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Return cancelled registration certificate to SEBI.<\/li>\n<li>Do not fraudulently represent himself as the holder of certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Suspend the tasks for which the certificate was granted.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Should co-operate with SEBI until the wound-up process is complete.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of certificate:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Suspend activities for which the certificate was granted.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Co-operate with <b>SEBI<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Credit Ratings of the client will be valid until the client withdraws and\/ or migrates the assignment in case of cancellation or surrender of Registration.<\/li>\n<li>In case of Suspension of certificate of registration, the credit ratings will not be valid during the period of suspension.<\/li>\n<li>The CRA, the registration of which is cancelled, surrendered or suspended, it&#8217;s services cannot be used by listed entities.<\/li>\n<li>In case of Issuers Not Cooperating, for 6 months from the date of downgrade to non-investment grade, no CRA will assign any new ratings to such issuer until it resumes cooperation or rating is withdrawn.<\/li>\n<li>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color:
