2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"page9R_mcid178\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The Securities and Exchange Board of India has made SEBI (Mutual Funds) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2022 to further amend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/lJL9S095\">Securities and Exchange <\/a><\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Board of India (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996. <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid179\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid180\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">They shall come into force on the thirtieth day from the date of their publication in the Official <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Gazette.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid181\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page9R_mcid181\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996,<\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid182\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid184\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">after sub-clause (iii) of clause (c) of Regulation 2 providing definition of &#8216;Associate&#8217;, the following proviso has been inserted:<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid185\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 40px;\"><span id=\"page9R_mcid185\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cProvided that the above definition of associate<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">shall not be applicable to such sponsors, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">which invest in various companies on behalf of the beneficiaries of insurance policies or <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">such other<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">schemes as may be specified
