On 25-07-2022, FSSAI has issued Guidelines for submission of applications for endorsement of vegan logo in exercise of power conferred by sub-regulation 5 of FSS (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022. <\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Key points:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The Food Business<\/span> Operator<\/span> shall submit an application<\/span> in<\/span> FORM-A along with necessary documents <\/span>and fee<\/span> of<\/span> Rupees Five Thousand (excluding<\/span> G.S.1)<\/span> payable to Senior Accounts Officer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The Food Authority shall scrutinize the application and information provided by the applicant.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The Food Authority may direct the applicant to submit additional supporting documents, data<\/span> or <\/span>clarifications,<\/span> if<\/span> required.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The Food Authority may either grant approval<\/span> or<\/span> reject the application, as per FORM-B.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The<\/span> food business operator may file an appeal before the<\/span> Chief<\/span> Executive Officer, Food Authority <\/span>against any decision<\/span> of<\/span> rejection<\/span> of<\/span> the application.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. A food business operator, who<\/span> is<\/span> aggrieved by the decision<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Chief<\/span> Executive Officer, Food <\/span>Authority<\/span> may<\/span> file<\/span> review petition<\/span> to<\/span> be<\/span> placed<\/span> for<\/span> consideration<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> meeting<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Food<\/span> Authority<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. The<\/span> Food Authority may,<\/span> for reasons to<\/span> be<\/span> recorded<\/span> in<\/span> writing, suspend<\/span> or<\/span> revoke any approval <\/span>granted to any food business operator.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. The Food Authority<\/span> may<\/span> review from time to time, the amount<\/span> of<\/span> fee for filing an application.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. If<\/span> a<\/span> food<\/span> business<\/span> operator<\/span> has<\/span> any<\/span> reason<\/span> to<\/span> believe<\/span> that<\/span> the<\/span> vegan<\/span> food<\/span> for<\/span> which<\/span> the<\/span> approval<\/span> has <\/span>been granted poses<\/span> any<\/span> risk to health<\/span> or<\/span> has not complied with the general requirement specified under <\/span>sub-regulation 3<\/span> of<\/span> FSS (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022, the Food Business Operator shall immediately <\/span>suspend the manufacture, import, sale,<\/span> or<\/span> distribution<\/span> of<\/span> such article<\/span> of<\/span> food and take steps to recall the <\/span>same under intimation to<\/span> Food Authority<\/span> in<\/span> accordance with the<\/span> provisions<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Food<\/span> Safety and <\/span>Standards (Food Recall) Regulations, 2017.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Food Safety Officers<\/span> and<\/span> Designated Officers shall immediately inform the Food Authority<\/span> of<\/span> any <\/span>complaint received regarding safety<\/span> of<\/span> any product approved by the Food Authority under FSS (Vegan <\/span>Foods) Regulations, 2022.<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. The food<\/span> business operator shall, after grant<\/span> of<\/span> approval apply<\/span> for<\/span> license as per the<\/span> procedure <\/span>specified<\/span> in<\/span> the Food Safety and Standards (licensing and Registration<\/span> of<\/span> Food Businesses) Regulations, <\/span>2011.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
