Amendment Rules, 2022\u00a0 to amend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/8kG2405V\">Companies <\/a><\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/8kG2405V\">Appointment and Qualification of Directors<\/a>) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/8kG2405V\">Rules, 2014.\u00a0<\/a> The amendment requires necessary security clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI in case the person seeking appointment to act as Director shares land border with India alongwith the consent.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Key points:<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid207\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In Rule 8, the following proviso has been inserted : <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid208\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page10R_mcid0\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cProvided further that in case the person seeking appointment is a national of a country which <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">shares land border with India, necessary security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Government of India shall also be attached alongwith the consent.\u201d;<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page10R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page10R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In Rule 10, the following proviso has been inserted: <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page10R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cProvided that<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">no application number shall be generated in case of the person applying for <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Director Identification Number is a national of a country which shares land border with India, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">unless necessary security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">has been attached alongwith application for Director Identification N<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\"
