The Central Government<\/span> extends the provisions of the Employees\u2019 State Insurance Act, 1948 to the classes of <\/span>establishments specified in column (1) and situated within the areas specified in column (2) of the Schedule <\/span>hereto, with effect from the 1<\/span>st<\/span> day of June, 2022.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Description of establishments<\/strong><\/td>\nAreas in which the establishments are<\/strong>
\nsituated<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
(1)<\/td>\n(2)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The following establishments, wherein ten or more persons are employed, or were employed, on any day of the preceding twelve months, namely:-<\/td>\nAreas of the Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar lslands, where the provisions of the Employees\u2019 State Insurance Act, 1948(34 of 1948) have already been brought into force under sub-section (3) of section 1 of the said Act<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
1<\/td>\nShops<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2<\/td>\nHotels<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3<\/td>\nRestaurants<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4<\/td>\nRoad motor transport establishments;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5<\/td>\nCinemas including preview theatres;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6<\/td>\nNewspaper establishments as defined in
\nclause (d) of section 2 of the Working
\nJournalists and Other Newspaper Employees
\n(Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous
\nProvisions Act, 1955 (45 of 1955);<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
7<\/td>\nEducational Institutions (including public,
\nprivate, aided or partially aided) run by an
\nindividual, trust, society or other
\norganisation;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
8<\/td>\nMedical institutions (including corporate,
\njoint sector, trust, charitable and private
\nownership hospitals, nursing homes,
\ndiagnostic centres and pathological labs).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
