Seafarers) Amendment Rules, 2022<\/span><\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> to amend the Merchant Shipping (Recruitment and Placement of Seafarers) Rules, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2016<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid65\" class=\"markedContent\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Key highlights:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid68\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the Merchant Shipping (Recruitment and Placement of Seafarers) Rules, 2016<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, in rule 9 dealing with Procedure for issue of licence and its renewal, in sub-rule (3), after the word &#8220;licence&#8221;, the words &#8220;within fifteen <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">days&#8221; shall be inserted.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid69\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8220;Director, on receipt of the Inspection report from the Inspecting authority may issue the licence withing fifteen days.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span id=\"page1R_mcid69\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the said rules, in rule 19 dealing with &#8216;Appeal&#8217;, in sub-rule (3), for the words &#8220;as far as possible within reasonable time&#8221;, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the words &#8220;within a period of sixty days&#8221; shall be substituted.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8220;Any person aggrieved by any order passed under sub-rule (2) may, within a period of thirty days of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the date of receipt of such order, appeal to the Director-General, who shall after hearing both the parties, pass an order <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">thereon, <span id=\"page1R_mcid69\" class=\"markedContent\">within a period of sixty days<\/span>.&#8221;<br
