Aligarh Muslim University had formed a committee (vide D. No. 1203\/Gen dated 14.02.2022) to consider the reopening of the University in the offline mode in a phased manner. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Tariq Mansoor approved the recommendations of the said Committee and released the following guidelines:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
    \n
  1. It is difficult for the students in different parts of the country to reach Aligarh at a short notice in the prevailing pandemic situation. So, in the interest of the students residing at far places from Aligarh, the dates for opening of the University in offline mode in a phased manner are kept so that they can make necessary travel arrangements to come to the Campus of the Aligarh Muslim University.<\/li>\n
  2. All the Research scholars of Departments of Studies will be allowed to continue their research work physically in their Department w.e.f. 07.03.2022.<\/li>\n
  3. The teaching of the 4th semester of all Post Gradute Courses will start in offline mode w.e.f. 15.03.2022.<\/li>\n
  4. The teaching of the final semester of all Under Graduate Courses will continue in an online mode but the students of these Semester may visit their concerned department for the purposes of Laboratory\/Field and other practical work and also may physically interact with their teachers w.e.f. 15.03.2022.<\/li>\n
  5. The offline classes of 10th (SSC) will start from 03.03.2022 and for class 12th (SSSC) will start from 07.03.2022.<\/li>\n
  6. The Maulana Azad Library will be opened from 01.03.2022 for the purposes of study in Reading Rooms only for the Research Scholars. Other facilities for the students will be extended after issuance of valid identity cards to the students by the University. The Timings of the University Library will be from 08:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The College\/Seminar Libraries of the Department of Studies will be opened from 07.03.2022 as per their scheduled time.<\/li>\n
  7. Only those students will be allowed to reside in hostels who will produce valid Vaccination Certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201cThe opening dates have been decided in a phased manner for the ease of outstation students from various parts of the country so that they can comfortably make the necessary travelling arrangements\u201d<\/i>, said AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS). [Source<\/a>]<\/span><\/div>\n

    The notice comes after various other central universities in the country have initiated the process of reopening in an offline mode.\u00a0The much-anticipated notice has been welcomed by the students. However, the notice remains silent on the question as to whether the examinations for UG and PG courses will be conducted offline or not. It is expected that this notice shall be followed up with notice(s) resuming offline classes.<\/div>\n

    It may be noted that this notice comes 3 days after a previous notice was issued requiring all the offices of the University\u00a0to function on full strength. Previously, the University offices had adopted the method of rotational attendance.
