It offers graduate, post-graduate, and research degrees in law and allied disciplines. The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and processes of law amongst the students and impart in them the skills of advocacy, legal services, law reforms and make them aware and capable to utilize these instruments for social transformation and development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since its inception in 2015, the University has endeavor to offer academic courses which include BA. LL.B.(Hons.) five years integrated program, one year LL.M. program in Corporate and Commercial Laws, Maritime Law and Constitutional Law, LL.M. (Professional), LL.M (Investment and Security Laws) in association with National Institute of Securities Markets, SEBI, M.A. (Mediation and Conflict Resolution), Post Graduate Diploma Programmes, among others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The University continues to make newer strides in the field of legal education with the dynamic vision and leadership of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey, and Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Anil G. Variath. As members of the University&#8217;s governing bodies, distinguished judges, senior advocates, eminent academicians, seasoned and senior bureaucrats guide the students with their rich and valuable experience.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">About the Programme<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Disputes are inevitable in society, which requires a robust dispute resolution mechanism to deliver justice. The Indian dispute resolution mechanism consists of Courts, Tribunals, and Alternative Dispute Resolution tools (including Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation, Lok Adalats, etc.).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms have been demonstrated to be effective compared to litigation because the former provide the advantage of speedy disposal of the disputes and assists in restoring relations between the disputants. Over the last two decades, there has been momentum to encourage their usage among the legal fraternity and businesses &#8211; domestic or international. The notification of the Bar Council of India to introduce Mediation a compulsory subject in LL. B Courses, singing of the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (Singapore Convention) by India, reforms in the Indian Arbitration Law to make India and Arbitral Friendly State\u2019 are some of the few instances where we see the advancement of ADR practices in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme will cover topics that are important for professionals in any field who deal with conflicts on a regular basis, as well as to academicians who aspire to deepen their knowledge. The Program faculty will include experienced practitioners and academicians who will supplement classroom learning with their own experiences and provide a comprehensive understanding of how arbitration and mediation work as dispute resolution mechanisms in domestic and international trade disputes.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Course Objectives<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>To familiarise participants with the fundamentals of arbitration and mediation as a dispute resolution mechanism<\/li>\n<li>To provide insight into the functional aspects and current challenges encountered in using these tools of dispute resolution.<\/li>\n<li>To develop techniques and skills to make effective use of these ADR methods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Duration of the Course<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The duration of the Program will be one year starting from April 2022 to March 2023. The Program shall comprise 2 Semesters with 8 papers (including one Research Project).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Program is to be completed within 3 years. Failing which re-registration on the term &amp;conditions prescribed by the university is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bachelor&#8217;s Degree or an equivalent Degree in any discipline from any recognized University or Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Graduation are also eligible to apply<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Candidates who have completed three years of their 5 years integrated LL.B Degree Programme in Law are also eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Course is open to learners of all age and all discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">COURSE STRUCTURE<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Course structure and paper-wise distribution of curriculum shall be as under:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Each paper will be of 100 Marks including Research Project<br \/>\n<strong>Semester 1 [April 2022 to September 2022] <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dispute Resolution in 21st Century (2 Credits)<br \/>\nCommercial Arbitration &#8211; Domestic and International (4 Credits) International Investment Arbitration (1 Credit)<br \/>\nConflict of Laws in International Arbitration (1 Credit)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Semester 2 [October 2022 to March 2023] <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meditation Practice and Styles (4 Credits)<br \/>\nPsychology and Mediation (3 Credits)<br \/>\nDrafting, Witness Examination, and Communication Skills.
