class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">On December 30, 2021, the Ministry of Electronics and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Information Technology has notified that the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">National Internet Exchange of India<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> is allowed to perform Aadhaar authentication, on voluntary basis, in domain booking <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">process, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid207\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page1R_mcid207\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and Ministry of Electronics and Information <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Technology (MeitY) shall follow the guidelines issued by the Central Government with respect to use of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the Aadhaar authentication.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid208\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page1R_mcid208\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Under NIXI, the IN Registry is a function with primary responsibility for managing the Country <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs) that is, operationalisation of .IN domain and ensuring its operational <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">stability, reliability and security<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid209\" class=\"markedContent\">.<br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid209\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">As Aadhaar based authentication is on voluntary<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">basis, paper based KYC may be used, when <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">registrant provides Government identity card other than Aadhaar card, and in this process, the customer is <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">required to upload or mail the scanned self-attested copies of his<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">documents with the NIXI and the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">verification of the validity of the details submitted shall be done through mobile and E-mail KYC (through <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">OTP).<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid210\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid210\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Customers may provide scanned self-attested copies of the following documents :&#8211;<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid211\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid211\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Bank Passbook or Post office Passbook with photo; or<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page1R_mcid212\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid212\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Voter Identity Card; or<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid213\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Ration Card; or<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid214\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card; or<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page1R_mcid215\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Driving License issued by the Licensing Authority under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of 1988); or<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid0\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Passport; or<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Identity Card issued under seal of the institution; or<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span id=\"page5R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Certificate of Identity having photo of such person issued by a Gazetted<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Officer or a <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Tehsildar on an official letter head; or<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Any other document as specified by the Central
