style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid160\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The\u00a0 Central Government has notified the Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Second Amendment Rules, 2021 to amend the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/CmR3fBwB\">Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Rules, 2015<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid161\" class=\"markedContent\">Key amendments: <br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid163\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid163\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Rules, 2015, in rule 7 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the following sub-rules shall be inserted, namely<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"page3R_mcid164\" class=\"markedContent\"> <br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid164\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201c(1A) Any person intending to obtain composite licence in respect of an area may submit a proposal to the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">State Government in the format specified in Schedule III along with available geoscience data for notification <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the area for auction to grant a composite licence.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid0\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(1B) In order to identify mineral potentiality of a block based on the available geoscience data where resources <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are yet to be established as referred in clause (a) of sub-rule (1), including in any block proposed by any person <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">under the sub-rule (1A), the State Government shall place it before a committee consisting of the following <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">members:<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2014<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px; text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(a) Principal Secretary or Secretary in the Mining and Geology Department of State Government (by <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">whatever name called)<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Chairman;<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(b) Deputy Director General of Geological Survey of India<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Member;<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(c) Director in the Mining and Geology Department of State Government (by whatever name called)<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Member Secretary.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(1C) On being satisfied of mineral potentiality of the area, the committee may recommend the area for <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">notification for auction with such alteration in it as may be required.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(1D) The committee shall recommend or reject the proposal within sixty days of its receipt in the State <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Government and thereafter the State Government shall notify recommended block for auction or reject the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">recommendation within sixty days of such recommendation.\u201d<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page5R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page5R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Schedule III relating to Format for Submitting Proposal for Auction of an Area for Grant of Composite Licence has been inserted. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0 Central Government has notified the Minerals (Evidence of
