Please send in your submissions before <strong>February 28, 2022<\/strong> in order for them to be considered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India is one of the fastest growing markets for fintech in the world. Financial institutions have been one of the first business sectors to adopt widespread use of technology to innovate, improve services, increase financial inclusion and cut costs.\u00a0 The rapid growth in mobile and telecommunications services in recent years, coupled with strong government support, resulted in significant expansion of fintech in India. The corresponding legal and regulatory systems remain at a nascent stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This special issue aims to be a starting point for furthering the academic discourse around Fintech in the Indian context. Given the contemporary relevance of the topic, we invite submissions exploring the legal, technological and regulatory aspects of the various fintech products and services that are emerging in India and abroad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Scope of the Special Issue:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fintech is an umbrella term which includes all technological innovations with a bearing on financial services.\u00a0 Some of the suggested sub-themes are:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Credit history<\/li>\n<li>Payment platforms<\/li>\n<li>Deposit\/lending and capital raising<\/li>\n<li>Peer to peer lending and microfinance<\/li>\n<li>Investment management<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This list is merely illustrative and\u00a0<em>all submissions falling within the broad ambit of Fintech are welcomed<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Authors are encouraged to adopt an interdisciplinary perspective and look into the socio-economic impact of fintech and regulatory proposals surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: For scholars new to this field, a recommended starting point would be the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/Scripts\/PublicationReportDetails.aspx?UrlPage=&amp;ID=892#3.1\">Report of the Working Group on Fintech and Digital Banking<\/a>\u00a0published by the Reserve Bank of India in 2018. An illustrative article would be Prof. Deirdre Ahern\u2019s article on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ijlt.in\/journal\/regulators-nurturing-fintech-innovation%3A-global-evolution-of-the-regulatory-sandbox-as-opportunity-based-regulation\">Fintech Innovation and the Regulatory Sandbox<\/a>, published in Vol. 15 (2019) of IJLT.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>Categories of Submissions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Articles (5000-12000 words).<\/li>\n<li>Essays (3000-5000 words).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The above limits are exclusive of footnotes. Substantive footnoting is allowed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Submissions must be submitted using this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/u\/5\/d\/1Fe9xlXJu8SKJ623SHF_vbH1KLEAn9bBBvY-vv4yPrk0\/edit\">form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>An abstract (not more than 250 words) must be submitted, concurrently with the manuscript.<\/li>\n<li>Submissions must be in English only.<\/li>\n<li>Co-authorship (up to a maximum of 3 authors) is permitted.<\/li>\n<li>The body of the paper shall be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
