The key objectives of the reforms are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The guidance aims to inform unnecessary barriers to responsible data use, while maintaining high data protection standards.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new data protection regime is focused on overhaul of the UK Information Commissioner&#8217;s Office (ICO) governance model, and plans to impose tougher sanctions for nuisance calls and text messages.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The consultation, launched a year after the publication of the National Data Strategy, will also examine how to mitigate algorithmic bias.
