On September 8, 2021, the New York government has signed Senate Bill no. S2758 into law. The Act amends the environmental conservation law which seeks to provide those sales of all new passenger cars and trucks shall be zero-emissions by 2035. The purpose of the Act is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution from transportation sector.<\/p>\n
Under the Act, new passenger cars, trucks, off road vehicles and equipment sold in New York are targeted to be zero-emissions by 2035, and new medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles by 2045. The Act also seeks to develop a zero-emissions vehicle development strategy by 2023.<\/p>\n
