{"id":253394,"date":"2021-08-30T10:30:28","date_gmt":"2021-08-30T05:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=253394"},"modified":"2021-09-16T15:37:06","modified_gmt":"2021-09-16T10:07:06","slug":"government-introduces-a-new-registration-mark-for-new-vehicles-bharat-series-bh-series-to-facilitate-seamless-transfer-of-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2021\/08\/30\/government-introduces-a-new-registration-mark-for-new-vehicles-bharat-series-bh-series-to-facilitate-seamless-transfer-of-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Government introduces a new registration mark for new vehicles  \u201cBharat series (BH-series)\u201d to facilitate seamless transfer of vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On August 26, 2021, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in order to facilitate seamless transfer of vehicles, has introduced a new registration mark for new vehicles\u00a0 i.e. \u201cBharat series (BH-series)\u201d.Avehicle bearing this registration mark shall not require assignment of a new registration mark when the owner of the vehicle shifts from one State to another.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Format of Bharat series (BH-series) Registration Mark &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Registration Mark Format: &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 YY BH #### XX<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 YY \u2013 Year of first registration<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 BH- Code for Bharat Series<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 ####- 0000 to 9999 (randomized)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">XX- Alphabets (AA to ZZ)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This vehicle registration facility under \u201cBharat series (BH-series)\u201d will be available on voluntary basis to Defense personnel, employees of Central Government\/ State Government\/ Central\/ State Public Sector Undertakings and private sector companies\/organizations, which have their offices in four or more States\/Union territories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The motor vehicle tax will be levied for two years or in multiple of two. This scheme will facilitate free movement of personal vehicles across States\/UTs of India upon relocation to a new State\/UT. After completion of the fourteenth year, the motor vehicle tax shall be levied annually which shall be half of the amount which was charged earlier for that
