enacting fresh legislation or amending existing rental laws as per <a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleseDetailm.aspx?PRID=1723636\">Press Release dated 02.06.2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Salient features of the Act are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will facilitate unlocking of vacant houses for rental housing purposes.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Private participation in rental housing as a model for addressing huge housing shortage.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will enable creation of adequate rental housing stock for all the income groups thereby addressing the issue of homelessness.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will further enable institutionalisation of rental housing by shifting it towards the formal market.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will establish Rent Authority to regulate renting of premises.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will protect the interests of landlords and tenants.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will provide speedy adjudication mechanism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color:
