National Law University Odisha comprising\u00a0Arkaneil Bhaumik, Shivalika Rudrabatla, Sri Aditya Kumar\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Udipto Koushik Sarmah\u00a0<\/b>has been adjudged\u00a0Semifinalists\u00a0<\/b>(top 4 teams out of 574 participating teams in World Rounds)\u00a0<\/b>at\u00a0the\u00a02021 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. <\/b>NLUO has had a great track with its performance at Jessup and this year’s team has set the benchmark the highest so far.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
The team ranked\u00a025th<\/b>\u00a0in the\u00a0\u00a0best combined memorials in world rounds category<\/b>\u00a0and has been\u00a0honoured with\u00a0the\u00a0Hardy C. Dillard Award<\/b>. They were\u00a0also adjudged\u00a08th Best Respondent Team\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a09th\u00a0 Best Applicant Team in the World Rounds. <\/b>Further,\u00a0Mr. Arkaneil Bhaumik<\/b>\u00a0was adjudged\u00a048th<\/b>\u00a0in the top 100 individual\u00a0oralists (preliminary rounds) category.<\/p>\n
The team from the University of Sydney won the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition and was awarded with the White & Case Jessup Cup. The Championship round, which was live streamed, also saw arguments from the National University of Singapore on April 17. The teams argued before three sitting judges on the International Court of Justice: Peter Tomka of Slovakia, Xue Hanqin of China, and Yuji Iwasawa of Japan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
