Mehta School of Law, Mumbai is organising its first National Mediation Competition on <strong>13<sup>th<\/sup> and 14<sup>th<\/sup> of February, 2021<\/strong> with the aim and objective to promote mediation as a means of dispute resolution and provide a platform of like-minded and zealous individuals to come together and show and sharpen their skills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of NMIMS, Mumbai believe that with mediation gaining traction as an effective and efficient means of Alternative Dispute Resolution, this competition will allow the participants to hone their advocacy skills with respect to Mediation and provide them with an opportunity to develop the requisite skills for the process of mediation. With guidance and feedback of an esteemed panel of judges, coming from affluent backgrounds, their expertise ranging from Supreme Court, leading arbitration and mediation councils of the country and outside the country, reputed law firms like Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and large corporations like VISA we aim to fulfill the vision to make a larger community of mediators and promote Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>FORMAT <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Mediation Session will take place <strong>virtually, on Zoom.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The participants are expected to have and maintain a good and a stable internet connection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If any one or more team member\/s backs out or fails to attend the round, the entire team will be disqualified. The participants are not allowed to use their real names during the session\/round.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The participants must use their assigned team code as their name on\/during the session on Zoom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Mediation Session will consist of two Negotiating teams representing both sides of the dispute and one Mediator engaging in the mediation process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each round will have a set of general information and confidential information for each side. The mediators are required to facilitate an agreement between the two negotiating teams. The Mediators will be in the meeting room at all times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Mediator may choose to start the session with a joint conference and engage in a caucus at a later stage or they may choose to start with a caucus.
