National Law School of India University, Bangalore, in association with Trilegal, is delighted to announce the XIV Edition <\/strong>of the NLS-Trilegal International Arbitration Moot (NLSTIAM), <\/strong>supported by Wolters Kluwer and SIAC.<\/strong> The competition will be organised from 20th to 23rd May <\/strong>2021. <\/strong><\/p>\n

NLSTIAM is the brainchild of NLSIU and Trilegal, which is aimed at raising the level of moot court competitions in India and also in other regional countries. Our Competition has been growing in prestige and quality with each passing year, as can be evinced from the highly renowned problem drafting panel and judges that we have had in the past few years. We have had the honour of hosting practitioners and arbitrators such as Prof. Martin Hunter<\/strong>, Dr. Gary Bell<\/strong>, Mr. Steven Finizio<\/strong> and Mr. Jonathan Lim<\/strong> of Wilmer Hale, Mr. Nish Shetty<\/strong> of Clifford Chance, Mr. Leng Sun Chang<\/strong> of Baker McKenzie and Justice B.N. Srikrishna<\/strong> as judges at NLSTIAM. We have also been fortuitous in securing the opportunity to associate with Mr. Gary Born<\/strong>, Partner at Wilmer Hale; Lord (Peter) Goldsmith<\/strong> of Debevoise & Plimpton, Ms. Sophie Nappert<\/strong> of 3VB, London; Mr. Baiju Vasani<\/strong>, who is a partner at Jones Day; Ms. Ermelinda Beqiraj<\/strong>, who is a partner at PwC; in the drafting of the problem for the past editions of NLSTIAM.<\/p>\n

The Competition further boasts of a highly competitive pool of participants, including regular international\u00a0participation\u00a0from teams across the world, including those from the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States of America, Poland, Singapore, China, Ireland, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. In order to make the experience of the participants at NLSTIAM even more enriching, we provide internship opportunities<\/strong> to the Winners and the Best Speaker at Singapore International Arbitration Centre<\/strong>, in addition to the Cash Prizes.<\/p>\n

Keeping up with the standards, we concluded the XIII Edition of this competition, which was organised virtually, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. With a challenging problem based on contemporary issues of arbitration, privacy and phishing, NLSTIAM provided an opportunity for students across jurisdictions to interact and exchange ideas and opinions.<\/p>\n

In the same vein, the XIV Edition of the NLSTIAM endeavours to uphold these standards of excellence that we have set over the years. With a challenging problem based on commercial arbitration, NLSTIAM endeavours to be an opportunity for students across jurisdictions to interact and exchange ideas and opinions. Our case-study drafting committee for this edition comprises of Mr. Salim Moollan QC<\/strong>, Mr. Jonathan Lim<\/strong> from WilmerHale, Mr. Krishnaprasad KV<\/strong> from One Essex Court, Ms. Manasa Sundarraman<\/strong> and Mr. Goutham RV<\/strong> from Trilegal, and Mr. Mihir Naniwadekar<\/strong>, practicing advocate in Mumbai.<\/p>\n
