It is a student-run initiative, which aims to provide free legal aid to the marginalized sections of the society. Our aim is to provide pro bono legal representation and advice to the weak and downtrodden sections of the society. Additionally, we also organize various legal literacy workshops and training programs to spread legal awareness and to further the cause of legal literacy. All this has been made possible by the constant support of our collaborators, viz.:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">District State Legal Services Authority, Bhopal<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian National Bar Association,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International Council of Jurists,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Committee for Legal Aid to Poor,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SCC Online,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EBC,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LiveLaw,<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red FM Bhopal, and<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyday India.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>About the Constitution Day: PIL Drafting Competition<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The NLIU LAC is organising the PIL Drafting Competition on Constitution Day. The rules of the competition are:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Competition shall be open for the students currently pursuing their Bachelor\u2019s Degree in law i.e. 3-Year LL.B. course or 5-Year LL.B. course from any recognized university\/college in India.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. Team Composition<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIndividual Participation\u201d as well as\u00a0 \u201cParticipation in a team of two\u201d is allowed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants from two different universities may also form a team.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The substitution of any Team Member is not allowed after the registration deadline except in extenuating circumstances and only with permission of the Organizer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3. Registration Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The participating teams can register themselves by filling this Registration Form: <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd6TRUmTszFgeC2be-QM5bDYiJimLBEOLkyXw8dMGOgHehkbQ\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">HERE<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The participation fee is Rs 100\/- for one team.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The participants have to pay the registration fee in the manner hereinafter provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The payment screenshot must be attached within the registration form.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0After the successful registration, each participant or team shall be allotted a\u00a0<strong>unique team code\u00a0<\/strong>for further references.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4. Queries<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the queries and clarifications must be sent to the official mail ID of the organizers i.e. \u201c<strong><a href=\"mailto:legalaidclinic@nliu.ac.in\">legalaidclinic@nliu.ac.in<\/a><\/strong>\u201d and the subject of the mail must read as <strong>\u201cPIL COMPETITION QUERY\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No query without the subject \u201cPIL COMPETITION QUERY\u201d would be entertained.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The last day to raise a query is \u201c19<sup>th<\/sup>November, 2020\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only queries sent through a mail shall be entertained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>(i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Topic of PIL<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The participants may submit a PIL draft on any issue of contemporary relevance that they deem fit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>(ii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Submission of PIL Drafts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each Participating Team must submit\u00a0<strong>ONE PIL\u00a0<\/strong>draft.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a participant\/team wishes to submit any annexures to support his\/her arguments contained in the Draft [for instance Reports, Commentaries, News Clippings, Pictures, etc.] a compendium of all the relevant annexures must be prepared and should be sent along with the memorial.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All PIL drafts must be sent on the email address:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:legalaidclinic@nliu.ac.in\">legalaidclinic@nliu.ac.in<\/a>till 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0November, 2020 midnight with the Subject of the email as \u201cPIL Draft, Team Code _\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Any submission made after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation, and will result in the cancellation of candidature as well as forfeiture of the registration fee.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any submission with any name reference of the participant will be disqualified.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Substantial Plagiarism shall amount to disqualification; therefore, the Participants must not submit plagiarised content (as the Drafts will be put through \u2018Turnitin\u2019). In case the draft of two or more participants\/teams is found \u201csubstantially similar\u201d to each other, both the participants\/ teams shall be disqualified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>(iii)\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Formatting Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the drafts must be submitted in both\u00a0<strong>Microsoft Word Document format\u00a0<\/strong>(.doc\/.docx) and\u00a0<strong>PDF Format\u00a0<\/strong>(.pdf)[i.e. each participant is required to send 2 files- One in MS Word format and one in PDF format].<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The body of the submissions must be in the font \u201cTimes New Roman\u201d with font size 12, with line spacing of 1.5 and justified. (The Font size for the Headings can be formatted as per the choice of the participants)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Footnotes shall be in Times New Roman, size 10, single line spacing, justified. Authorities shall be cited as per the 20<sup>th<\/sup>edition of the Bluebook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>(iv)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Content of the PIL<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PIL is to be filed before the Supreme Court of India<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PIL Memorial must contain all of, and only, the following components:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Cover page; which should contain;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">(a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Unique team code in the upper right-hand corner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">(b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The name of the case;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Table of Contents;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
