The legislation has\u00a0repealed<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the three decades old Consumer\u00a0Protection Act, 1986\u00a0and completely overhauled the law\u00a0with\u00a0the objective of providing\u00a0timely and effective administration and settlement of consumer disputes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Consumer Protection Laws represent one of the most critical components of the market architecture of the country involving a wide range of stakeholders.\u00a0It is\u00a0essential that the students of\u00a0law, commerce, management, and other streams understand the\u00a0nuances\u00a0of this specialised subject\u00a0through\u00a0both education and training in this field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In light of the same,\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Chair on Consumer Laws at National Law University, Delhi<\/strong>\u00a0is organizing the\u00a0<strong>Second Edition of National Quiz Competition on Consumer Protection Laws<\/strong>, 2020 on\u00a0<strong>30th November, 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0The objective is\u00a0to\u00a0provide\u00a0an opportunity\u00a0and a conducive platform\u00a0to students from all streams at various universities to expand, explore and develop their knowledge of consumer laws through the medium of a National Quiz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The competition invites\u00a0<strong>u<\/strong><strong>ndergraduate students,<\/strong>\u00a0from all disciplines, to participate as\u00a0<strong>individuals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0<strong>top 3 participants will be awarded cash prizes<\/strong>\u00a0( 1st position &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u20b9 6000,\u00a02nd position &#8211;\u00a0\u20b9 4000, 3rd position &#8211;\u00a0\u20b9\u00a02000) and the Quiz promises to be an enriching and exciting way of learning more about our Consumer Protection Laws.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0<strong>last date for registration is Sunday, 15th November, 2020<\/strong>.
