A Decade of Tenacity: 10th Amity Moot Court Competition, 2020| Organised by Amity Law School, Noida : Live Blogging and updates on your way!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is a matter of jubilance and glory for us to acknowledge that Amity Law School (AUUP), Noida, will be organizing the 10th Edition of Amity International Moot Court Competition for the year 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the years Amity International Moot Court Competition has gained tremendous reputation for its flawless organization, competency of the participants from top universities gathering from across the continents and the immaculate selection of judges for the various rounds who are not only experts in their respective fields but also masseur for the students as they impart their wisdom and guidance.<\/p>\n

The reviews that the Competition has so far received have been more than cherishing and the organizing team very proudly continues to strive in order to put together a competition that is anticipated by the participants as well as the students of Amity Law School every year.<\/p>\n

Every competition is about the participants and their competency more than anything else and in this respect as well, the Competition has surpassed all expectations as it is getting ready to host students of both Top Indian and International Law Universities<\/strong> from all over the globe for the first time in its 10th edition! Further, the moot problem typically involves complex issues of international law, ranging from State responsibility to the law of sea and maritime rights.
\nWe hope this competition will be an excellent opportunity for all the participants to hone their advocacy skills and widen their intellectual horizons.<\/p>\n

11:45 hours : It\u2019s finally here and the wait is over! All teams are excited for the virtual version of the 10th Amity International Moot Court Competition. We begin shortly.<\/p>\n

12:00 hours : Preliminary round 01 commences<\/strong>. The real fight for the precious trophy begins here.<\/p>\n

13:10 hours : The competition has taken off on full steam. The enthusiasm among the participants is on full display as the teams take on one another in a challenge that is as exciting as it is invigorating. As the teams charge ahead with their impressive arguments, debating skills and counter views, the session, for sure, is set to get more engrossing.<\/p>\n

13:50 hours : Like a drowning man clutching at straws, the competitors make one last ditch attempt to convey the strength of their case, and with that Preliminary Round 01 comes to an end.<\/strong><\/p>\n

15:05 hours : Hustle Rustle the Preliminary Round 2<\/strong> has commenced.<\/p>\n

The silence of the courtrooms has\u00a0been broken by the respective bailiffs as they orate their scripts.<\/p>\n

15:30\u00a0hours : The speakers are persuasive and are also giving a tough fight. One can’t do anything but enjoy this cutthroat exchange of words between the two parties.<\/p>\n

16:40 hours : The teams seem to be meticulous and are taking care of minor nuances of the arguments and protocols.<\/p>\n

16:45 hours :\u00a0Ms Trupati Panigrahi<\/strong> said that the organization of the virtual moot was flawless.<\/p>\n

16:50 hours : The court clerk rung the warning bell. All good things must come to an end. Each and every argument from the 2nd preliminary rounds were a treat to the eyes, music to the ears and food for the brain. Finally, the speaker from the respondent side uttered the words, “Therefore, in the light of aforesaid arguments….” thus, announcing the end of their arguments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

16:55 hours : Today’s interplay of words between the teams from all over the globe was truly mind tumbling.

12:55 hours : The judges are trying to fluster the speaker by questioning. There is an intense back and forth questioning going on in the court. The speaker is gathering her facts and thoughts and continuing with her arguments.<\/p>\n

12:40 hours : The courtroom is silent and brimming with anxiety. All the participants seem tensed but gearing up for the fight.<\/p>\n

12:45 hours : The proceedings have started in Court Room 2. Speaker 1 from T.C. 82 is addressing the Judges, the counsel is confident and presents the arguments with utmost zeal.
\nThe teams are well versed with facts and the regulations.<\/p>\n

12:55 hours : He has a clear voice and presents his stance with full belief and force.
\nThe judges begin asking him questions about his contentions. The speaker keeps calm and tries to answer the judges.<\/p>\n

13:03 hours : The speaker finally ends his argument and Speaker 2 begins her arguments.<\/p>\n

13:06 hours : The speaker starts off with a properly sketched outline of the speech and puts forward the arguments one after the other.<\/p>\n

13:15 hours : She speaks in a dulcet tone and is eloquent.
\nThe bench is amiable and seems quite content with her submissions.<\/p>\n

13:20 hours : There are continous questions and cross questions by the Honourable Judges, the brighter side to look at is that they remain firm and confident.<\/p>\n

\nSpecifying the time distribution, the agent starts with the issues.<\/p>\n

13:36 hours : The speaker is articulate in her presentation and thorough with the proposition.
\nThe judges begin onslaught of questions, but the agent provides full justice to the queries with her convincing arguments.<\/p>\n

13:50 hours : The judges are relentless and are leaving no stones unturned. There are several dimensions that the agent adds to the case thus making it more interesting.<\/p>\n

14:00 hours : After a long series of questions, Speaker 1 finally wraps up her argument.<\/p>\n

14:16 hours : The Speaker is facing all the questions placed in front of her by Judges head-on which in turn is inviting several mind-boggling queries from the bench. And by listening to this to and fro between the counsel and the Judges, one can easily infer that this session is going to last longer than expected.<\/p>\n

As the 2nd day has now finally come to an end, we would like to share the highlights of today’s proceedings. The vying teams were effortlessly good, each word they spoke reflected confidence, conviction, a surety in their arguments and determination to blaze their way to the Semi-Final Rounds. It was engaging for the Judges as they witnessed an intense competition. As one of them remarked, \u2018It was a pleasure to judge the rounds. The teams were really well versed and spoke really well.\u2019
\nEven though we had to bid farewell to some of the teams, we hope that we were able to enrich their time spent with us. We hope they walked away with a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment. We would want nothing more than to see them again next year!<\/div>\n

\nThe past 2 days have been truly memorable for everyone.
\nThe gongs are beaten and the bells are rung as Amity International Moot Court Competition moves forward to the fiery stages with the commencement of Finals. The teams are armoured with their arguments and memorials in their arsenal. The nail biting atmosphere has everyone on the edge of their seats. May victory serve the worthy and may the light of knowledge grace us all.
\nThe Final Fight for the Title is About to Begin!<\/div>\n

The birds are chirping, the breeze is soothing, memorials have been exchanged and oral pleadings are being revised. We are feeling elated for the last day and we hope our elation is contagious to the participants.<\/div>\n

After a 3-day long fierce competition, the time to draw the curtains has come as the valedictory function is about to begin. The virtual stage is set up and the audience are ready to recognize the hard work and team spirit displayed by the participants.<\/p>\n

    She begins by welcoming everyone present for the occasion. She continues by describing the Competition as one of the best among the present moot competitions and also congratulates the moot court society for its organization. She strongly feels that this edition of AIM added a golden feather in the legacy of ALS.<\/p>\n

    16:35 hours : Next, our Additional Director and Joint Head (Prof.) Dr. Aditya Tomer<\/strong> started addressing the audience.<\/p>\n

    He reflects on the motto of the college to proceed towards achieving excellence and regards this competition as just one of the many ways to achieve the same.
    \nHe thanks every individual associated with this Competition and has a special word for the extraordinary participants and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.<\/p>\n

    16:40 hours : Our Honourable Chairman Amity Law School, Prof. (Dr.) D.K Bandyopadhyay\u00a0<\/strong>begins by welcoming everyone and thanking our Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan<\/strong> for his support.
    \nHe congratulates the college for the successful organization of the Competition and stresses on the growing culture of mooting in the legal fraternity. He added that he was exhilarated that AIM received participation from overseas on its 10th edition.<\/p>\n

    Honourable Lordship, started off by talking about the significance of the concept of moot courts and how they became popular in India in the mid-90s.<\/p>\n

    • He stressed on developing the quality of being articulate in the court.<\/li>\n
    • He draws attention of the audience to the theme of the 10th edition of Amity International Moot Court Competition – Law of Sea. And added that “we have to prepare law students not only for our country but also internationally.”<\/li>\n
    • He applauds the college for conducting the competition in an efficient manner.<\/li>\n
    • He goes ahead with comparing the standard of Amity International Moot Court Competition to other moots that he had adjudicated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      16:51 hours : Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani<\/strong> from the Delhi High Court <\/strong>begins addressing the gathering.<\/p>\n

      Highlights of his Speech:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Honourable Lorship, started by greeting everyone and reminiscing the times when we had an opportunity to meet in person.<\/p>\n

      • He begins his speech by the quote \u201cLaw is a serious avocation.”<\/li>\n
      • He added the Importance of standing out rather than getting dissolved in the crowd to leave a mark.<\/li>\n
      • Then, he suggests the budding lawyers to deliver justice as the clients are a lawyer\u2019s true judge.<\/li>\n
      • Further, he gives valuable advice to the audience and encourages the students to cultivate the habit of Un-ending handwork, indomitable patience and unwavering perseverance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        17:59 hours : Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Dr. S.N Pathak<\/strong> from the Jharkhand High Court<\/strong> starts addressing the audience.<\/p>\n

        Highlights of his Speech:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • He started his address by citing that he was delighted to be the part of the auspicious event.<\/li>\n
        • He appreciated the organisers for the great efforts made by them, and especially thanked Mr. Ashok Chauhan.<\/li>\n
        • He emphasizes on perseverance and passion in order to make a mark. He believes that \u201cthings can be turned around in an instant, even when it feels like it will be easier to give up.\u201d<\/li>\n
        • He also stressed on consistency in practice and added that moot courts were one such platform that provided practical experience, which was different from bookish knowledge.<\/li>\n
        • He believes that success stories are a combined and coherent efforts of the team.<\/li>\n
        • He ended his speech by quoting Helen Keller, \u201ccharacter cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved.\u2019 Character is vital, too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            17:14 hours : Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Suresh Kait<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0Delhi High Court <\/strong>starts\u00a0addressing the gathering.<\/div>\n

            • He narrates that he is honoured and proud to participate in the virtual mode of AIM.<\/li>\n
            • He encouraged the students and thereby enunciated that “Challenges would come, but we shouldn\u2019t be afraid.”<\/li>\n
            • He persuaded us to strive for an honest life, and added that if one believes in hard-work, luck and success would follow.<\/li>\n
            • He encouraged us by saying we were all competent and could do whatever we wanted in life, as long as we remained focused, optimistic and positive \u2014 \u201cWaqt se ladkar jo naseeb badal de\/ insaan wohi jo apni taqdeer badal de\/ kal kya hoga kabhi mat socho\/ kya pata kal waqt khud apni tasveer badal de.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n
            • He quoted Charlie Chaplin, \u2018Life laughs at you when you are unhappy, life smiles at you when you are happy, but life salutes you when you make others happy.\u2019<\/li>\n
            • He ended on an even more interesting note, quoting Kennedy and what he said about change. \u2018Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

              • He highlights the need of legal professional in this era and encourages students to contribute highly in the field of law by “Serving the Society.”<\/li>\n
              • Lastly, he concludes by quoting – \u201cLife is uncertain but it has it\u2019s own way of unfolding\u201d where difficulties lead to success and living life to its fullest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
