It is a student-run academic body set up with a view for having insightful discussions on various contemporary developments taking place in the field of Arbitration\u00a0Law\u00a0within and outside the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>About the webinar<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The Society for excellence in Arbitration law, RMLNLU is organizing a \u201c<strong>Three-part Knowledge Session on Investor-State Arbitration<\/strong>\u201d. The last two parts of the series are to be held on 29th and 30th September, 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Through this series of live sessions, the speaker will aim at explaining, from the utmost basics to the concepts and mechanisms within the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Part-I<\/strong>\u00a0of the series has covered\u00a0<strong>International Investment Agreements<\/strong>, providing a brief introduction to the treaties and principles of Interpretation and protected investments and investors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Part-II<\/strong>\u00a0will cover in detail, Expropriation and its exceptions, including the form of Expropriations and non-precluded measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Part-III<\/strong>\u00a0will deal with standards of treatment such as Most-Favoured Nation, Fair &amp; Equitable Treatment and Full Protection &amp; Security<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Timing of the session:\u00a0<strong>4.30 PM- 5.45 PM IST (+5:30 GMT)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>About the speakers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ms. Kshama A. Loya:\u00a0<\/strong>She leads the International Dispute Resolution and Investigation Practice at Nishith Desai and Associates.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>She specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration, litigation and pre-litigation strategies. She has acted as counsel in various proceedings, including institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, and litigations in Indian courts and tribunals. She has a special focus on advocacy and cross-examination of witnesses. She has advised on disputes and issues arising in a range of industries including Energy, Mining, Infrastructure, Construction, Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals and Life-sciences, Funds, Finances, Consumer Goods, Travel and Transportation, Automotive, Media and Entertainment, Aviation and Advertising.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">She holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Laws from King\u2019s College, London, and has studied Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at Harvard Law School, Prior to her LL.M., she worked as a counsel in the Chambers of (then advocate) Justice S.V.
