produce?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">The Farmers\u2019 Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 received the President&#8217;s assent on 24-09-2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Farmers\u2019 Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Purpose of the Act:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following are the objectives of the Act:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Creation of an ecosystem where the farmers and traders enjoy the freedom of choice relating to the sale and purchase of farmers&#8217; produce which facilitates the remunerative process through competitive alternative trading channels.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">To promote efficient, transparent and barrier-free inter-State and intra-State trade and commerce of farmers\u2019 produce outside the physical premises of markets or deemed markets notified under various State agricultural produce market legislations.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">To provide a facilitative framework for electronic trading and for matters connected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Key Highlights<\/h3>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Freedom to conduct trade and commerce in a trade area [SECTION 3]<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Any farmer or trader or electronic trading and transaction platform shall have the freedom to carry on the <strong>inter-State or intra-State trade<\/strong> and commerce in farmers\u2019 produce in a trade area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Trade and commerce of scheduled farmers\u2019 produce [SECTION 4]<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Any trader may engage in the inter-State trade or intra-State trade of scheduled farmers\u2019 produce with a farmer or another trader in a trade area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trader who transacts with farmers shall make payment <span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">for the traded scheduled farmers\u2019 produce on the same day or within the maximum three working days.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 4\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Market fee under State APMC Act, etc., in the trade area [SECTION 6]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No market fee or cess or levy under any State APMC Act or any other State Law shall be levied for trade and commerce in scheduled farmers&#8217; produce in a trade area.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 4\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Price Information and Market Intelligence System [SECTION 7]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Central Government may develop a Price Information and Market Intelligence System for farmers&#8217;
